A World War Two Submarine: Spectacular Visual Guides - Humble, Richard

Packed with detailed cutaways and clear explanations, A World War Two Submarine reveals how diesel-electric boats were designed, built and fought - and what it felt like to live inside them. Readers explore ballast tanks, periscopes and sonar; follow a day in the boat; learn how torpedoes worked; and see how U-boats and Allied subs battled through Atlantic gales and convoy warfare. A final chronology, facts, glossary and index consolidate learning and support curriculum work on the Second World War and technology. Written by Richard Humble and illustrated by Mark Bergin.
