Conversations of Goethe with Eckermann and Soret - Eckermann, Johann Peter

Eckermann's recollections of his conversations with Goethe during the last nine years of his life were originally published in three volumes in Germany in 1836 and 1848. This two-volume English edition, published in 1850, helped to reawaken interest in Goethe. Volume 2 covers 1827 to 1832.
