Cromwell's Navy - Capp, Bernard (Reader in History, Reader in History, University of Warwick)

This is the first study of the Navy during the English Revolution, arguing that the Commonwealth Navy was deeply influenced by the revolutionary circumstances of its origins. It provides a richly detailed insight into a neglected aspect of the period and charts the Navy's central role in the struggle to win foreign recognition for the new regime.
