Doktor Serafikus - Viktor Domontovych

A professor's heart is an encyclopedia of passions hidden behind bibliographies and notes. In "Doctor Seraphicus" it pulses in unison with the explosive waves of history. It rushes to classrooms and libraries, but cannot avoid parks and fashionable cafes, cozy ravines and wild lanes. Is it hard to come across a hipster in the 1920s? What is easier - to fall in love with such a girl or with the city? How to remain Ukrainian intellectuals after the influx of "good Russians"?... V. Domontovych and his whimsical, but convincing characters know the answers. One of the most mysterious Ukrainian novels is published for the first time with chapters and fragments that miraculously survived in the archive.
