Early Responses to Renaissance Drama - Whitney, Charles (University of Nevada, Las Vegas)

In this study of early responses to the plays of Shakespeare, Marlowe, and other Renaissance dramatists, Charles Whitney uses old compilations of early modern dramatic allusions to provide an original concept of pre-1660 reception. The book demonstrates how that reception is essential for understanding English Renaissance drama.
