Echoes of Andalucía - Richard C Pizey

José is seventy-nine years old and there isn’t much he doesn’t know. He is short and stout, has strong beliefs and is regarded by many as the fount of all wisdom. María is José’s wife. She is short and stout, faithfully supports her husband in everything and is blissfully happy when surrounded by her immediate family. Echoes of Andalucía is set in the week following 9/11 - a time of world crisis, a time when the future is held in suspense. The story, detailing twenty-four hours in the life of José and his family, subtly encompasses seventy years, as José - dipping in and out of habitual frequent siestas - comes to terms with episodes from his colourful past and grapples with the aftermath of the attack on America. Bloody and brutal, beautiful and tragic, Echoes of Andalucía dances with the fiery sensuality of this haunting country and reveals the hidden way-of-life still to be found in the mountains of southern Spain. Echoes of Andalucía is the second novel from Richard C Pizey, author of Ripples and its sequel, Revelations.
