Everyday Saints and the Art of Narrative in the South English Legendary - Thompson, Anne B.

The author offers an account and explanation of the diversity of the more than 60 manuscripts of the "South English Legendary", a late 13th-century collection of verse lives of saints, in a southern English dialect. She shows how they reflect and address the complexity of Edward I's England.
