'Growing up as the only Black, hijab-wearing girl in a white seaside town, with strict African Muslim parents, I was stuck between a world I didn't feel part of and one I wasn't allowed to fully embrace. I was raised to follow the rules, be the good daughter, be a top-achieving pharmacist and finally marry an eligible bachelor. But life had other plans - like falling for a rapper, sneaking into stand-up comedy, and finding myself on stage at the O2.
