Jaguar of the Illuminati!

The author studied in the U S in the 70's and that means he was fed on movies such as Day of the Jackal and the Godfather. He is also an avid follower of Agatha Christies Poirot so one can see the influence of Mafiosi, lone gunmen with nefarious motives and a good mystery and he is easily enchanted by the danger and skill of a good heist. His time as a Harvard professor no doubt had a great influence too. His whole trip is instigated by an encounter with the Dalai Lama who seeing him lost recognises his ability to see the East in a unique way and who thinks he can find what he is searching for in the magic of the East. The authors extensive travels ( he has been to 195 countries) make him easily able to compare the traditions of The east and the west and point out the irony of certain situations. His unique life has also caught the attention of Eatern gods and they maintain a running commentary of his activities.
