Lily the Pond Mermaid - Lucy Fleming

A stunning picture book about a tiny, but very big-hearted, pond mermaid called Lily who lives in a magical pond world with all her underwater friends - dragonflies, damselflies, snails, frogs and fish! From the creator of Ella's Night Lights, this is a truly cosy and uplifting bedtime read about kindness, community, looking after nature, knowing when to ask for help and recognising the great courage and strength in reaching out. Lily’s beloved pond home is her whole world. But ponds are vulnerable places and Lily worries about keeping everyone safe … and her worry grows and grows. When a storm hits the pond and everything becomes covered in a tangle of storm debris, Lily becomes overwhelmed. But then she finds, bubbling up inside, a little flicker of courage to reach out, talk about her worries and ... ask for help. Through sharing her fears, she is reassured that she is not alone. In fact … she never was. Ideal for fans of myth, magic, fantasy and, of course, mermaids, but with a truly cosy, and familiar, picture book touch!Have you met Lily’s enchanting picture book friends? - Ella’s Night Lights Ella is a little moth girl who only comes out at night to collect shimmering lights and guide other animals to safety… - Oak, the Littlest Leaf Girl Oak is the littlest leaf girl on the tree… What will happen when autumn is over?
