Little Apples (And Other Early Stories) - Anton Chekhov

A rediscovery of largely unknown early Chekhov stories... Award-winning translator and scholar Peter Constantine brings us a collection of little-known work from Chekhov's early days as a magazine writer. These stories are fresh yet mature snapshots of the style with which Chekhov would come to be associated, both uproariously tragic and darkly comic. With moments that seem to presage his most contemporary writing, Chekhov'sLittle Applesreveals one of the world's greatest writers as we have rarely seen him, an author both deeply of his times and far ahead of them.
