Manchester - Makepeace, Chris

Manchester was originally a small market town bounded by rivers on three sides, but when the borough was created in 1838 the town broke free of these constraints, and began to spread to the north, south and east of the original settlement. This deals not only with the suburban areas, but also the city centre and people at work and play.
