Personal Aspects of Jane Austen - Austen-Leigh, Mary Augusta

When this biography of Jane Austen (1775-1817) first appeared in 1920, there was considerable public interest in her life, but previous biographies included many inaccuracies. In this important and often neglected book, Mary Augusta Austen-Leigh (1838-1922) corrects some of the common misapprehensions, and advocates a closer critical reading of Austen's work.
