This text offers a provocative reconstruction of Christian nonviolence in light of the interdisciplinary field of trauma studies. It analyzes the effects of traumatic violence and argues that Christian nonviolence must move beyond pacifism to include the creation of communities in which traumatized people can survive and flourish.
