Sophia - Karsten Massei

‘Over time I realized that Sophia has long since united herself with the human being. It became apparent to me that her sphere of being has become the sphere of the human soul.’With a strong emphasis on personal inquiry, Karsten Massei provides a unique guide to inner pathways that lead to Sophia, using spiritual writings, meditations and imagery. He reveals Sophia as a goddess who embodies diverse aspects of ancient creative deities – such as Isis, Gaia, Athene and Persephone – who have accompanied humanity through the ages. Though each journey toward her is personal, they share a common goal: to deepen our understanding of life and infuse it with wisdom. This book invites readers to awaken their own direct experience of the spiritual being known as Sophia. Drawing on his personal spiritual investigations – and inspired by figures such as Hildegard of Bingen and Jacob Boehme, who both encountered Sophia consciously – Massei explores her relevance to our time, and her significance for the modern soul. Who is Sophia? How can we come to know her? And what can we do to develop our own insights and relationship with her? These are the questions at the heart of this profound and timely work. ‘The gateway to Sophia is wide open… I was surprised that nothing obstructed my entry into her intrinsic sphere except my reticence, or perhaps my sense of inadequacy or lack of trust. Her light illumines our souls, whether we wish it or not.’
