Spurting Arteries & Flooding Oceans (What to do in case of disasters great and small) - Jesse Goossens

Everyone knows about the Red Cross and the life - saving work this organization carries out worldwide. But what can you do yourself, at home or in your own neighbourhood, when disaster strikes? Jesse Goossens has written a manual dealing with thirty - four disasters large and small, for everyone aged nine and up, and she’s collected funny, gruesome and wonderful facts about every possible catastrophe. Because do you know how many bones you can break? How to resuscitate someone? How to tell a forest fire is coming, or how much blood your body’s got in it? And what was the biggest earthquake ever? Linde Faas has taken these facts and brought them together to create a sparkling, joyful whole, a book that’s a pleasure to leaf through as well as an essential reference work for all children, young and old, who want to help make the world a better place.
