The Bruegels: Lives & Works In 500 Images (New A) - Rogers Nigel

Pieter Bruegel the Elder is one of the world’s most original artists who founded a dynasty of painters. His most popular works include Children’s Games, Hunters in the Snow and Peasant Wedding Feast. The first part of the book tells the story of the Bruegel family, including his sons Pieter the Younger and Jan the Elder, the latter of whom collaborated with Rubens on several important works. The second part is a glorious wide ranging gallery of their work. Unlike other Old Masters, the Bruegels focused on ordinary people: farmers, workers, children, dancing, celebrating, working.
