The Will of the Standing Stones: A 1920's historical mystery whodunnit - A.G. Barnett

Locked-room tension, unexpected inheritance, secret identities, and a sharp female sleuthing duo collide in this suspenseful Golden Age mystery set in storm-bound 1920s England. A fortune waits. So does a killer. When columnist Flo Hammond arrives at remote Standings House in the Cotswolds for a will reading, she expects tension, old resentments, and an awkward weekend. She does not expect Jessie Circle—a bold, sharp-eyed American with a knack for asking exactly the wrong questions. Then the terms of the inheritance are revealed. Cut off by a storm and surrounded by ancient standing stones, the guests must uncover the truth behind an unsolved murder if they want to claim a penny. But before Flo and Jessie can make sense of the dead woman’s secrets, another guest is killed. Now the house is full of suspects, the lies are mounting, and the killer is closer than anyone thinks. To survive the night, Flo and Jessie must untangle a web of blackmail, betrayal, and buried motives before the murderer strikes again. The Will of the Standing Stones is Book One in the Hammond and Circle Mysteries by A.G. Barnett, perfect for readers who love classic-style whodunnits, country-house murder mysteries, and clever amateur sleuths. ____________________________________________________________________ Praise for the Hammond and Circle Mysteries series: ?????
