Through the Eyes of Vincent Van Gogh (Selected Drawing and Paintings) - Barrington Barber

Vincent Van Gogh took as his subjects the places and people around him. This collection of some of his most touching and intimate works spans his entire lifetime and comes with insightful commentaries by artist-teacher, Barrington Barber. Van Gogh was productive as an artist for just ten years but his output was prodigious and varied, ranging from portraits of working people performing simple tasks, landscapes infused with the brilliant light of the Midi to everyday objects. This luxurious hardback edition with full-colour artwork and gold gilded page edges presents examples of these genres and places them in the context of the artist's life at the time. It is a beautiful introduction to the artist, his life and his legacy.
