Venantius Fortunatus - George, Judith W. (Deputy Scottish Director, Deputy Scottish Director, The Open University)

This work examines the secular poetry of the only major Latin poet in the latter half of the 6th century in Gaul. His significance in the Latin literary tradition of the West and his personal role in contemporary events are evaluated. An appendix provides text and translation of some of his poems.
