Innocent Bystander - Murfy Richards

Innocent Bystander follows an ordinary man’s adventures to the edge of mortality through the lens of risk and consequences. A white-knuckle epic, the book is a true account of facing grave danger with humour, hope and optimism that weaves a spectacular tapestry from their role in life and the world of cultures we live amidst. A story produced by the offshore oil industry that flows around the globe, Innocent Bystander is seat-of-your-pants thriller that confronts all-manner of catastrophes and events that will live in global infamy (such as the Piper Alpha disaster, Vargas tragedy, and Al-Khobar massacre) as we journey with Murfy gaining knowledge, building perspective and critical thinking on an expedition to the extremes of the human experience. Adventure, drama, irony, and horror – but most of all humour – Innocent Bystander is a swash-buckling, globetrotting yet thought-provoking and poignant roller-coaster of optimism in the face of calamity that brings life-lessons from the abyss but leaves knowledge, resilience, empathy and a broader appreciation of the world-at-large and the risk within everyday living.
